this fashion show star dress trend will mark the summer

Because the French luxury house has accustomed its intimate audience to being immersed in a sumptuous setting steeped in history, the Dior cruise 2023 show orchestrated by Maria Grazia Chiuri did not derogate from the rule of know-how. If one would have thought that it would be difficult for the artistic director of feminine lines Christian Dior to reinvent herself after the monumental cruise 2022 show which took up residence in the Panathenaic stadium in Athens last year, and to the collection fall-winter 2022-2023 inspired by the 16th and 19th centuries with accents from the sixties… This new edition attests to the creative genius of the Italian stylist with her signature blonde hair.

The promise ? 110 silhouettes presented according to the rules of the art at 10:15 p.m., after dark, on the mythical Plaza de España. In total darkness, strewn with light until it was entirely covered, a dancer and a flamenco dancer seemed to be fighting a duel on the rhythmic step of their tap dancing which resonated in the assembly. Behind this fiery duo, stood a troop of young women, all dressed in petticoats and red tulle.

Dior cruise 2023: the flamenco-inspired dress steals the show from all the others

So, and as usual, Maria Grazia Chiuri called upon local craftsmen to paint a portrait of the splendor of the Spanish court. A pretext for the Iberian celebrations, the first silhouettes crossed two bridges overhanging the canal, decorated with passion flowers. From the iconic Manila shawl, to boleros from toreador inspiration, to Duchess of Alba ball gowns and equestrian outfits jackie kennedy who rode together, without forgetting the velvet-lined Bar suit jacket… The Dior cruise 2023 collection stands out as a tribute to the Spanish ferias, and diverts traditional costumes from their primary function to invite them to the forefront of the Andalusian fashion scene. Thus, and without departing from the heritage of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri introduced a slew of dresses punctuated with Iberian accentswho are predestined to become the biggest fashion trend of summer 2022.

The ruffled dress: the fashion trend from the Dior Cruise 2023 show

Adorned with ostentatious ruffles and gathered bardot collars, the Dior flamenco dress imposes its style. With striking games of cuts and materials summarizing the opulence of Spanish royal luxury, the dresses from the Dior resort 2023 collection win all the votes. Enough to combine summer with Andalusian charm, since it’s a safe bet that these ruffled dresses will twirl around on all fronts between now and the summer season.
